EFFORT

Our goal has always been to produce quality products at a price that remains within reach. While we have achieved this goal with our bridles, we are now proud to offer this optional premium upgrade. We spent the greater part of 2023 sourcing the highest quality leather. We settled on a bridle leather that is not only commonly used by some of the most well-known tack companies but is also notorious for its "visual appeal, endurance, resilience, and fundamental characteristics of true quality". We are proud to offer Premium Upgrade bridles with leather from J & E Sedgwick & Co, one of the oldest and most respected tanneries in the UK. Our decision to offer each bridle in this European / English leather that has been produced from the earliest stage of sourcing all the way to the final stage of finishing will now give our clients the Riviera designs that they know and love with an even higher quality leather than what we traditionally offer. 

SOURCING & FINISHING

Sedgwick leather is sourced and selected using only the highest quality cattle hides in the UK, as well as buffalo hides from the Far East. This tannery has strict quality control measures in place through each stage of its production. This ensures that no imperfections are overlooked by their craftsmen. All leather is hand-finished at J & E Sedgwick’s with an open-grain texture and a high-shine finish. 

SUSTAINABILITY

Leather is a wholly natural material, therefore it is a biodegradable product. The hides used by Sedgwick are a byproduct of excess pieces from the abattoir. Sedgwick ensures that additional steps are taken to recycle any waste that is created during the tanning process. We use vegetable-tanned leather, most leather that is not vegetable-tanned is chrome-tanned. Chrome tanning can be not only dangerous for horses (resulting in rashes or other allergic reactions) but is also dangerous for the person working with chrome tanning. Studies have linked many cases of respiratory cancer (among many other cancers) to those who work with leathers and chrome tanning. These are just some of the small impacts we try to make in the leather industry to change it for the better and encourage as much sustainability as we can. 

Please note, by selecting the Premium Bridle Upgrade you understand and agree that this is a non-refundable selection. We offer returns up to 7 days after the bridle arrives to you if it is returned in its original unused condition. This includes crease marks, or any signs of use that would make leave the bridle in a condition other than "New". To ensure a proper fit, please see our size guide.
